Good Morning, I would like you to post the following story which I encountered at the passport office .

Please hide my ID.

Anyway the story is I went to the passport office to renew my passport which is about to expire. I forgot about the photos until I was by the complex. I had my pictures taken outside by this car and paid $5 and then I got in and completed my forms. The queue was fast moving except where u get your finger prints taken. I was taken aback when was I was asked to remove my jewellery so that I could have my photos taken. I thought maybe they wanted to have a second record of their own. It’s only when I was asking the person next to me as to whether he had attached his passport photos to the form is when I was told that they was no requirement to produce passport photos anymore as everything was now being done internally!!!!! I was so shocked to hear that they do not require these anymore . As we were discussing this issue the other gentleman in the que also testified seeing an official directing another woman to get passport photos taken outside..Can u imagine .. It turns out that the passport office is now automated including kwe ma ID that everything (photos) is done there.

So my question is why are the responsible authorities not letting people know by putting up signs outside notifying the unknowing members of the public not to waste their hard earned money . Better still why not post an advert in the newspaper .Secondly why are the people vanotora maphotos outside vachibvumidzwa to continue with that business which is now irrelevant if I might say . So they are intentionally misleading people into taking passport photos which they know are not required inside.
Lastly why can’t the authorities set up an office which photocopies documents so that people do not go outside to photocopy. Those pole charge 50c to photocopy. So why can’t the office charge the same amount and do everything centrally.

Kruftie Bodyshop Pbc Ask yourself who owns the outside photo business and you will know why its being allowed to continue this way.

Kruftie Bodyshop Pbc An employee within the passport office wldnt direct you outside unless its for some personal gain

Mandishona Achihoro Memzy i agree nemunyori as for sure when you get to the passport offices for the first time unenge usingazive at all that zvese zvave accessible mukati . hence you still find people photocopying and taking pictures outside wongofungawo kuti its what you should do

Watson Musenda pa Ok vanhu vanotengesera matomatoes panze peshop,is that the problem ye Ok? Kuti ndatenga panze ndisingazive kuti mukati akachipa.Lets be practical we assume everyone has a right to ask for the information inside the passport office. What the writer is telling us is what was happening the last time she took the passport,Now its different all together and what she did outside the Registrar thats her problem, yekungodhumira without asking, muroad here mamunoda ma signs…..You ask.

Gina Maworere Aaaah picturres are tamen inside the passport offices excluding for kidz…They also photocopy but u never asked anybody so they wouldnt guess dat u need a photocopier……..As for pictures the Public was notified in the herald a yr ago

Rummage Isaac It was in the press madam..Herald and Sunday Mail..maybe you’ve been ignorant of the information as well..the right to information is there..you just didn’t take the initiative to ask…

Chikanga Munya Lets learn to read and appriciate our newspapers daily even if we dont like some newspapers..it helps a lot.It keeps us well informed and abreast of changes and things going on around us.We cant always listen to Etv,SABC,BBC,CNN,ALJAZEERA etc all the time…its good to know the going ons of things in Zim to avoid ignorance

Leeroy Bernard Fredericks passport photos as they are termed are used for many other things besides getting a passoprt, bank account application, visa applications, school registration, marriage applications etc so banning those that take photos outside the passport office is a non starter. Secondly i beg to differ, why is the passport office taking over the passport photo business and killing jobs for those in that business, its very comical to note that they reject photos from outside as substandard but the minute their system acts up they gladly accept those same substandard photos. 3rdly setting up a photocopy place within the passport office will only increase unecessary queques within there. Photocopying prices have dropped to 10cents for between 4 to 6copies a price the passport office would never be able to compete with.

Watson Musenda This now the world of technology, everything is now computerised, what are you losing in paying $53 and having everything without hassles? Going with photos kutori kumasure, taking back the country than moving forward.
